The Dutch Game Day in Hilversum is an important event for the Dutch games industry. The Hague University of Applied Sciences was represented for the first time at this edition, with 10 students. They enjoyed inspiring stories from professional practice.

The event took place at the impressive Museum for Sound and Vision.

The talks covered various aspects of game development, including technology, art, production and design, as well as marketing.

Alongside attending talks, there was plenty of opportunity to network. What makes an event like this special is how approachable the professionals are. That is useful for students hoping to enter the games industry after graduating, or simply curious about how games are made. A conversation with Rami Ismail, Adriaan de Jongh or Joost van Dongen, for example, is invaluable.

A mentoring network was announced at this event: Dutch Game Mentors, where students can turn for advice and experience after graduating.

The evening ended with the Dutch Game Awards, recognising the year's best games. We can look back on a day full of knowledge, energy and inspiration.

Dutch Game Day is organised by the Dutch Games Association, supported by Dutch Media Week and Control.
