Student studios in the Game Development minor pitched the game ideas they will work on next semester, in groups of around 8 students.
The ideas were highly varied: 2D games, 3D roguelites, a racing game and even a digital card game. Themes were diverse too. That is not always the case, as most games last period were 3D with dark themes. It is refreshing to see and makes us even more curious about the final results. It promises to be an excellent Expo.
Some studios went all out for their presentations and already demonstrated prototypes. The photograph shows the Rogue Agent team, who describe their intended project as a story-heavy, predestination-paradox 3D puzzle game. Whether they can achieve it remains to be seen. They certainly took the stage with plenty of bravado.
The other games we can expect are Reel's Casino, Scales and Steel, Automata, Radial Overdrive, Fowl Play and Better Times Await.
