Over recent weeks, several studios and games industry stakeholders have visited GameLab. Sometimes this happens at events such as Factory Game Drinks, but also through individual contacts, both online and on site, including Jungle de Bungle (Carolina Bongers, pictured), ACM, OmniPlay, ForcVC, Humeo, Medipanalytics, Leiden University, The NXT Fit, the municipality of Zoetermeer, Tellick and nlgroet.

Requests are very varied. They may involve exploring collaboration with GameLab to develop serious games, gamification or game technology. For example, we have discussed possible assignments with the municipality of Zoetermeer, ACM and Tellick, and have already reached an agreement with Tellick.

Growth questions

They can also involve investment or growth questions. How do you start a studio and help it grow? How do you raise funding or develop a sustainable business model?

Jungle de Bungle, Humeo and Medipanalytics visited to learn about the games industry and investment opportunities. The same applies to entrepreneurs referred through nlgroeit, such as Jeroen Bos of Vastgoed Foto & Video.

We very often find that they are unfamiliar with GameLab and the Dutch Innovation Factory. Their introduction, with GameLab's hosting facilities, Mini Arcade and recently renovated lab spaces, is invariably positive.

There is a positive trend: more people and businesses are finding their way to the Dutch Innovation Factory and GameLab.
