The Dutch Innovation Community recently organised another ICT Careers Day at the ADO Stadium: the opportunity for students to meet employers and secure their dream internship. Among the many technology companies and innovative stands, one place was constantly busy… the GameLab stand!
More than just a chat
While most companies presented themselves with leaflets and roll-up banners, GameLab took a different approach. We brought the GameLab Arcade to the exhibition floor. After all, nothing catches an IT student’s attention faster than the sounds of an arcade cabinet and the challenge of setting a high score.
The Arcade was more than a crowd-puller: it was the perfect icebreaker. As students played, spontaneous, engaging conversations developed about their ambitions, their passion for game development and what GameLab can offer them.

Finding the perfect match
Of course, the day’s main goal was to connect talent with excellent internships. The Dutch Innovation Community is a breeding ground for talent, and it showed. We spoke to motivated students ready to tackle challenging projects.
Beyond our own stand, it was a pleasure to see familiar faces from the industry. Major names such as Miniclip and the experts from Tellick attended, further underlining the quality of the event and the opportunities for students.
The future looks bright
We look back on a highly successful day full of inspiration. The students’ energy and interest in GameLab’s projects show that the region’s games industry is very much alive.
