A group of Innovative Development students worked on an arcade cabinet for GameLab as part of MKO (Manage Knowledge Outreach). They presented an impressive cabinet for playing games developed in the lab and the Game Development minor.

The arcade cabinet originally belonged to Dutch Game Garden. When that organisation ceased to exist, the cabinet became available and was given to GameLab. It was an old arcade machine built in 2010, so several things needed repairing and upgrading.

The ID students provided a new PC to run the games and restored the cabinet. They also gave it a new colour scheme in the style of The Hague University of Applied Sciences.

The arcade cabinet will be used to play games for the first time at the exhibition on 27 June. It currently contains four:

  • Spider Spell
  • Glacial Descent
  • Mallow Mystery
  • USB-BOT

The aim is to put all games from the best games gallery on it, preserving them for future generations of students.
