GameLab at the Dutch Innovation Factory is a place where students work on gaming-related assignments with expert guidance. From PC and mobile entertainment games to serious games, digital twins and simulations.
On 24 May 2023, Jeroen Derwort and Bowie Derwort were appointed to manage the lab. The first four students started on 28 August 2023.
GameLab grew out of a desire to offer the best options to students wanting to undertake gaming-related projects. Although the Netherlands has plenty of excellent games companies and projects, students find them difficult to locate. Building knowledge is also important. GameLab provides a central place where assignments are gathered and assessed before work begins through a sustainable process within the university of applied sciences. This gives students suitable assignments that can also span several internship periods.
Who is it for?
From the coming academic year, HBO-ICT students at The Hague University of Applied Sciences who have chosen the Game Development & Simulation (GDS) specialisation or completed the gaming minor can come to GameLab for an internship, graduation assignment or project.
GameLab is physically located in the Innovation Labs at the Dutch Innovation Factory. However, projects will also be worked on at other locations.
