The Hague University of Applied Sciences has several labs, including BewegingsLab. This afternoon, we discussed how GameLab and BewegingsLab can work together.

The BewegingsLab is based at the university’s main campus in The Hague, while GameLab is at the Zoetermeer campus. Despite this distance, it is very useful for students developing games to know that they can collaborate with BewegingsLab.

BewegingsLab has several motion capture systems that can record interactions for games. One camera-based system is used on site in the lab, while mobile systems can be borrowed. Students wanting to use this relatively expensive technology therefore have an excellent opportunity within The Hague University of Applied Sciences. Beyond the equipment, the lab also has the knowledge and expertise to connect movement with technology.

The same building also houses a 3DLab with several 3D printers. Although the Zoetermeer campus has two basic 3D printers, more advanced facilities are available in The Hague if needed. Students can print objects there at cost.
