Fontys University of Applied Sciences has a student incubator where students can work on their own projects and even graduate through them. One of these teams, CatDrink Studios, has a connection with THUAS GameLab because Jeroen Derwort is its mentor.

CatDrink Studios has three very talented members, each with their own specialism. They are working on an unusual game about cats in a mine. As they put it: "Join forces with your friends and dive enthusiastically into CataMiner's chaotic underground world, where teamwork and unexpected disasters create unforgettable moments."

Because they are working on a co-operative exploration game in Unity, there is overlap with GameLab teams developing their own indie projects. Those teams are also making co-op titles, and two use Unity.

Demo

The Fontys students recently attended an online demo showcasing GameLab projects. A question-and-feedback session followed, which they enthusiastically took advantage of. Because everyone uses a Scrum process with 2-week sprints, these exchanges can be organised easily in both directions, allowing students to learn from one another's experiences.

The DGA Network Lunch on 1 April will offer Fontys and THUAS students an opportunity to meet and exchange experiences.
