A group of pupils from Technasium Melanchthon Bergschenhoek is working on a serious game. They visited GameLab to show their prototype and learn how they could improve it further.
The game revolves around managing a biodiverse garden. You can add plants that attract animals. Whenever you place something the animals like, such as a butterfly bush, it attracts those animals: butterflies in this case.
We discussed ways to make the game more enjoyable and improve its balance. The aim, of course, is to reward players for introducing plenty of diversity into the garden.
The pupils are making their game in Game Maker, with which they already have some experience. The results are already impressive. With GameLab's input, they can continue improving the game design. We look forward to the final result!
GameLab welcomes pupils and students from different disciplines and educational levels. We work with Melanchthon Bergschenhoek, as well as primary schools, vocational colleges, universities of applied sciences and research universities. Curious about what collaboration with GameLab might look like? Please feel free to get in touch.
