GameLab’s second semester has begun, with the first demos scheduled yesterday and today. For Incident bij de Koffiecorner, Benjamin & Carol: Mystery of the Scarab, KibA, InnovA58 and GymSim, students updated us on their progress.
We follow a Scrum process, with a demo every two weeks to keep stakeholders informed. Those stakeholders include not only fellow students and supervisors at GameLab, but also clients.
The demo takes place on site, with external participants joining through Teams. Progress is then reviewed using a fixed format. Apart from Michael Rotteveel, all the students are new to the lab, so the first few weeks have mainly involved getting up to speed and gathering requirements. This is always a little untidy, and introducing structure as early as possible is important.
Now that all projects are using the Scrum framework, we can adjust and improve every sprint. It was good to see the demos generate so much feedback. I am very curious to see how the projects progress over the coming period.
