Looking for an internship assignment? GameLab offers internship and graduation placements.

There are three ways to undertake an internship through GameLab.

  1. Work on client assignments. These mainly involve gamification and simulation projects. Currently available client projects are:
    • InnovA58 (Rijkswaterstaat), a Unity simulation of a motorway and innovations
    • GymSim (HALO), a Unity simulator for designing sports hall layouts
    • Wargame (CyberSecurity research group CSYLL), converting a strategic board game into a digital game
  2. Develop your own indie game . Students must have at least a prototype they can show. This is a unique opportunity to work on your own project.
  3. GameLab can help connect you with external clients for an assignment.
    • VR Active esports Arena BEAST (The NXT Fit), Unity
    • Real world 3D virtualization workflow for driving simulators (HAN Automotive Research), based on Unreal Engine.

Check this page regularly to find out whether new internship assignments are available.

Internship fair

On Tuesday 13 May, the SIM study association organised an internship fair for third- and fourth-year Software Engineering students. GameLab was there to explain the internship opportunities to those interested.

Despite our outreach efforts, many students were still unaware of the possibilities for internships at GameLab. Some also had doubts about Game Development as a field of study because of turbulence in the sector.

It was good to share the latest updates and explain GameLab's aims and opportunities.

If you are looking for options not mentioned here, new assignments are added regularly and will be listed on the GameLab website. You can also contact GameLab Manager Jeroen Derwort by email or Teams.
