Cyber Risk Game
Commissioned by the Cyber Security Living Lab (CSyLL), GameLab is developing a serious game to simulate cyber risks in ports.
The world is increasingly facing cyberwarfare. Geopolitical tensions mean that major logistics hubs such as the Port of Rotterdam are under greater attack than ever.
Trust Port is being developed to recreate realistic scenarios. Decisions must be made under time pressure and with limited resources, and feedback is provided on them.
CSyLL
Trust Port is commissioned by CSyLL. The Cybersecurity Living Lab is an experimental working environment where students, researchers, businesses, public institutions and end users collaborate to develop, test and evaluate new cybersecurity ideas, products and services in practice.
Through innovative experiments and research, participants learn to respond effectively to cyber threats and manage risks.

Status
The collaboration between CSyLL and GameLab began after the summer of 2025. An exploratory phase established a need for awareness and training in cyber risks within the port sector.
Students Adam Zuurveld and Kevin Gazi developed an initial game prototype to test game mechanics and explore applicability within the cyber domain. This prototype was shown at the EXPO in January 2026.
The first half of 2026 will be used to define specifications further with industry partners and apply lessons from the prototype to a final game design, which GameLab students will work on during the first semester of 2026/2027.
