Space Gourmet: Delivery, by GameLab-coached Bismuth Studios, took the spotlight at the first networking lunch organised by the Dutch Games Association.
The first version of the game was made during the Game Development minor. The team then continued working hard on a second version intended for release on Steam. However, funding will be needed to reach that point. Unfortunately, an earlier attempt to secure funding through Midgame Fund was unsuccessful. There was sufficient investor interest, but the investment climate is currently so poor that hardly any new games are securing funding.
The project's business lead, Benjamin Hardy, remains optimistic about its prospects. He uses opportunities such as Factory Game Drinks and now the DGA Networking Lunch to draw attention to the game again.
The DGA Networking Lunch was a success. Attendees appreciated SG:D, as the game is abbreviated, and Benjamin received useful feedback to work with. Perhaps the next funding round will succeed and we will see SG:D in the Steam charts! I have confidence in it, because people always play it with such enthusiasm.
